Wetland/Plant/Hydrographic Survey Expert Promoted
Robert Wayne, AWD, has been promoted to the professional 5 classification, recognizing the lead role he plays on wetland delineation, plant identification, and hydrographic survey at Ayres.
Wayne, who joined Ayres’ water resources staff in 2016, is certified by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) as an assured wetland delineator (AWD), which means his wetland delineation reports are approved with no need for the usual WDNR field verification, saving clients up to 60 days on approvals, as well as related fees.
In addition to wetland delineations, Wayne provides hydrographic surveying, drafting of preliminary plans, field inspections, construction observation, and assistance with regulatory compliance and environmental permitting. Wayne has experience in agricultural waste storage facility construction, conservation practices and structures, and wetland reserve program monitoring.
Wayne is also a WDNR-pre-approved qualified plant surveyor for rare plant species, and he is a certified Karner Blue Butterfly surveyor. He is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists. In January he will join Ayres’ safety committee.
“While Rob is not officially pursuing a project management trajectory in his career, he incorporates many project management skills in his technical role,” says Pete Haug, PE, water resources manager. “His entrepreneurial instincts have allowed him to bring a large amount of work in the door for the Water Resources Group over the past year, and I appreciate his well-rounded skillset.” Wayne earned a bachelor’s degree in conservation/soil science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
