Structural Engineer Brings Extensive Michigan Bridge Experience
Steffanie Pepin, PE, has joined Ayres’ structural engineering staff. Working remotely from her home in Marquette, Michigan, she provides structural engineering and project management on bridge projects, specializing in structures in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin. She brings 13 years of Michigan bridge design and construction experience.
Pepin has managed a variety of bridge designs ranging from open grid steel deck bridge rehabilitation to the design of precast box beam bridges. She has worked on projects involving timber piling, stone abutments, pile cap replacement, bearing repairs, slope protection, guardrail upgrades, partial deck replacement, and approach work in accordance with Local Agency Bridge Program criteria. She also has experience overseeing railroad bridge maintenance projects.
She provides design; project management; coordination with agencies, stakeholders, and subconsultants; and construction observation. Pepin also mentors and supports junior staff.
“Steffanie knows the Michigan DOT Local Bridge Program inside and out,” says Dan Sydow, PE, manager of structural engineering. “Clients who want their local program projects to go smoothly will benefit from her years of working in sync with the processes and requirements. It took her just over one week at Ayres to be selected for a bridge replacement project!”
Pepin is a registered professional engineer in Michigan and holds a master’s degree in structural engineering and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, both from Michigan Technological University.
