Rudolph Promoted to Senior Position in Water Resources Group
Todd Rudolph, PE, has been promoted to senior professional 1 within the growth-minded Water Resources Group. Rudolph joined Ayres in 1997 and serves as the senior technical expert for structural analyses of dams, including stability, construction joint treatments, structural connections and keys, dewatering bulkheads, and spillway gates.
For decades Rudolph has performed hydraulic and hydrologic computations; design and inspection of hydraulic structures, such as gate design and inspection; and completed related structural design for walls, spillways, foundations, and other water retaining structures.
Rudolph provides extensive construction inspection support, and he is an approved Part 12D inspector for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) dams. He has taken on a lead engineering role in projects in which Ayres helps clients to comply with new FERC rules, which took effect in 2022 and require periodic comprehensive assessments of hydroelectric dams.
“Todd is recognized as a trusted structural analyst for a range of dam components, and now he is mastering the new FERC comprehensive assessment regulations,” says Anthony Alvarado, PE, vice president. “This is the kind of leadership that gives clients confidence in Ayres’ industry leadership.”
Rudolph is also Ayres’ lead structural steel engineer for the design of hinged floating bulkheads, which have been used nationwide for dewatering hydro project spillways during rehabilitation, construction, and testing of spillway gates.
Rudolph is a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Washington, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota.
