Veterans Home Skilled Nursing Facility
« Return to Project SearchWith a goal of creating a homelike environment for northwestern Wisconsin’s veterans and their families, this 72-bed facility features smaller households and neighborhoods, private rooms, fresh-cooked meals, and a variety of indoor and outdoor amenities. The single-story structure has a partial lower level for support services.
The 83,342-square-foot skilled nursing facility includes two 18-bed neighborhoods that provide a homelike environment. The facility provides single rooms with private bathrooms; a cozy dining room; and a central “town square” area with an interior park, chapel, beauty/barber shop, cafe, recreation/activity room, library/computer room, therapy area, and medical examination room.
The facility’s multi-purpose spaces serve both residents and the surrounding communities’ veterans, bringing together elders, visitors, and caregivers for everything from physical therapy to a cup of coffee.
Per state guidelines, the home was designed to meet the equivalent of a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certified building.
