USH 53/IH 94 Explosives Spill Response

Ayres provided spill response oversight after a truck containing explosives including ammonia nitrate and diesel fuel overturned on July 9, 2020, at the interchange of IH 94 and USH 53 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The hazardous materials at the accident scene flowed into a storm sewer and then flowed east and discharged into a ditch along USH 53. Services included waste disposal characterization, confirmatory soil sampling, and completion of a No Further Action (NFA) report to close out cleanup at the site. Our team observed soil removal and ditch reclamation, including erosion control, top soil placement, and revegetation.
