University of South Florida Sailing Center Renovation & Expansion

« Return to Project Search

The University of South Florida St. Petersburg (USFSP) retained our team to provide marine engineering, ecological sciences, environmental resource permitting, and civil design services for a renovation of the campus sailing club docks. The project consisted of removing the existing 30-slip docking facility and designing a new 39-slip sailing facility. Thirty of the new slips will be used for small sailing vessels, with the remaining nine slips to be used by larger sailboats and powerboats. The reconfiguration resulted in 6,194 square feet of docks.

We provided marine engineering to design the floating structures and facility in conjunction with Gator Docks floating dock systems. Detailed reports were prepared for the renovation activities and to identify any environmental considerations associated with the construction and operation phases. Permit drawings were produced to provide details necessary to fully illustrate the scope of the proposed renovation. An ecological assessment including benthic survey was performed. Final construction documents were prepared along with as-built certifications after construction observation services were provided.
