The Fields at Arbor Glen

Ayres worked closely with the developer to design the second phase of Arbor Glen’s Lake Elmo site. This three-story, independent senior living facility includes 42 living units, available in one and two-bedroom layouts, with one guest unit. Beyond their individual living space, residents have access to a community room, fitness/activity area, media center, and individual member storage units.

The first level provides enclosed parking along with wall-mounted bike racks. Exterior materials were carefully selected to complement the existing Arbor Glen community. The exterior is clad with horizontal and vertical steel siding with a combination of brick and stone accents. Units include patios or decks in addition to a large, covered porch near the main entrance for outdoor dining space.

The site’s grand U-shaped entrance to the independent living building is lined with seven twin-home villas and one fourplex villa. The independent living overlooks the center of the campus, where residents are provided with outdoor spaces including a pavilion, outdoor gas fire pit, pickleball courts, and other recreational spaces.

Ayres’ interior design team established unit schemes for the villas and the independent units featuring granite countertops and kitchen islands. A combination of light and dark wood tones enhances the common areas to provide a warm, inviting environment for socializing. The backlit dimensional art panel and large murals featuring a local artist are prominently displayed at the elevator lobbies to assist with floor identification.
