Tempe Knox Road Traffic Calming

The City of Tempe selected Ayres to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for two traffic calming elements on Knox Road. Ayres designed a raised crosswalk at an elementary school, requiring modifications to a school driveway and the existing drainage system. The second traffic calming device is a “choker” constructed near Hanger Park. The choker was designed to avoid any impacts on existing drainage patterns. Landscaping was included in the design. This project required quick response and efficient work due to the small budget and short time frame.
