Sheboygan County Bicycle Striping Plan

Our team worked with Sheboygan County and seven municipalities to include bicycle facilities on existing roadway cross sections, primarily through restriping. Methodologies included narrowing travel lanes, eliminating on-street parking, reconfiguring travel lanes (also known as road diet), and widening travel lanes to accommodate bicycle users. Services included design, a comprehensive facility design report, and construction administration and inspection services for the restriping implementation project.
The work comprised one of four Federal Highway Administration non-motorized transportation pilot projects in Sheboygan County to demonstrate how improved walking and bicycling networks can increase the prevalence of these modes of transportation.
