The Riverton Master Plan Update project included integrating a number of previous planning documents, developing key implementation steps for each topic area, and updating and blending mapping components for the built environment in this central Wyoming community.
The City received a grant to update the plan with a major focus on economic development, as well as land use, parks and recreation, tribal partnerships, transportation, and utilities. The Ayres team worked with staff, focus groups, and elected officials to identify core components. Online and in-person public input opportunities helped to shape priorities and recommendations for work plans.
A major challenge was developing action items and priorities to work within a very limited city budget. The Ayres team guided stakeholders toward a final product that will be useful and will fit the community’s desire to begin to move forward and invest resources wisely.
