New Mexico Rio Grande Gorge Bridge Inspection

Ayres completed the inspection of the bottom chord of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, which carries US 64 over the Rio Grande northwest of Taos, New Mexico. Ayres provided a two-person field team to complete the climbing. The team gathered notes and digital photos that were provided to New Mexico State University for inclusion in the bridge inspection report. Ayres used rope access techniques to rappel down to the bottom chord from the bridge deck at the middle of the center span. From there each inspector walked one bottom chord. Our team provided inspections in 2013 and 2015.
