Plymouth ADA Transition Plan
« Return to Project SearchThe City of Plymouth recognized the importance of providing recreational facilities that meet the needs of all residents. The City hired Ayres to assess all parks and publicly accessed facilities within the City and develop an Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan. The project included in-depth review of the physical conditions in 18 parks, two cemeteries, and six public works buildings, including City Hall and fire and police buildings. The assessment also encompassed special use recreation facilities such as the aquatic center and skateboard park.
The team assembled the plan, developed detailed recommendations for improvements, drafted a 10-year capital budget plan, and facilitated public presentations.
Recommendations stemming from the assessment focused on safety issues first, followed by function and ease of use. The Ayres team then worked with the City on implementation of the plan recommendations.
