Moose Lake Dam Spillway Replacement
« Return to Project SearchMoose Lake Dam did not have adequate spillway capacity to pass the 1,000-year flood, and this project involved designing a new spillway that will safely pass the 1,000-year flood of 6,290 cubic feet per second as required under Wisconsin regulations.
A March 2014 evaluation by Ayres concluded that three 12-foot-wide slide gates at the same sill elevation as the existing dam were required to accommodate the 1,000-year event. Design services included spillway hydraulics, spillway stability computations, final design and drawings for the new spillway, and project specifications. Ayres also provided bidding and construction administration assistance. Construction was completed in June 2016.
