Dairyland Power Cooperative retained Ayres to complete a Consultant’s Safety Inspection Report (CSIR) for the Flambeau Hydro Station in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. The project involved completing an inspection, analysis, and report. Ayres completed all duties required of an independent consultant under Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) guidelines.
This 81-foot-tall high-hazard dam impounds 1,745 acres. The dam includes multiple Category 1 tainter gates, each 40 feet wide and 26 feet tall.
Project tasks included preparing the CSIR, updating potential failure modes (PFMs) and completing the Supporting Technical Information Document (STID) to conform with FERC regulations and guidelines.
