Douglas CTH F Reconstruction

Douglas County retained Ayres to design the reconstruction of 4 miles of CTH F from US 2 to STH 13. The project followed the Surface Transportation Program-Rural process and included survey; design reports; agency coordination; preliminary and final design; right-of-way plat; and plans, specifications, and estimates. This project contained sections that followed 3R standards and sections that followed normal design standards.
Parts of the existing roadway had experienced significant settlement. As a solution to the problem, lightweight fill (Geofoamexpanded polystyrene) was used to replace the existing fill in these areas.
