Colonial Boulevard Joint Utility Bore
« Return to Project SearchOur team provided design services for construction of a 1,050-linear-foot directional-drill crossing of Six Mile Slough in the Colonial Boulevard right-of-way in Lee County. TECO Peoples Gas and CenturyLink shared this 24-inch bore with 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch conduits. We prepared the construction documents, including plan, profile, and calculations for pull-backs per ASTM standards.
The relocation of these utilities was required for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) widening of Colonial Boulevard (CR 884). Our team coordinated the utility relocation design as required by FDOT and provided the opportunity for the utilities to share the design, permitting, and construction costs. We prepared federal, state, and local permit applications and handled wetland-related issues. Construction commenced within six months of project initiation and took one week to complete.
