Clintonville Water Supply and Arsenic Removal
« Return to Project SearchClintonville, Wisconsin, is in an area of naturally occurring arsenic. When contaminant levels in the City’s water supply were determined to be too high, the City retained Ayres for a series of projects.
Ayres completed a water study to evaluate water storage and treatment needs by modeling the existing distribution system using WaterCad, including approximately 200,000 linear feet of water main, six well stations, and one water tower. The existing water storage capacity did not meet standard engineering practices, and Well No. 2 arsenic levels had exceeded the maximum contaminant level. We completed a water supply and distribution study to develop and analyze water system alternatives and determine the most cost-effective and environmentally sound water supply and distribution plan.
Ayres provided design, bidding, and construction services for an arsenic removal system; a 500,000-gallon prestressed concrete ground storage reservoir; a 2,500-square-foot booster station; four well pump modifications; six chemical feed system modifications; three well station reconstructions; three well station modifications; 3,000 linear feet of transmission mains, including a directionally drilled river crossing; and a new SCADA system.
