Chippewa County, Michigan, Underwater Bridge Inspections

Chippewa County contracted with Ayres to provide underwater bridge inspection services for eight bridges throughout the County. Ayres provided a three-person crew, surface-supplied air diving equipment, and a boat. Inspection reports were generated using the Michigan Bridge Inspection System (MBIS). Streambed cross sections at the bridge fascia were obtained and plotted in a spreadsheet graph.

Deliverables included the MBIS Underwater Bridge Inspection Report, photos from the site, notes of any deficiencies found, the streambed cross section plots, and underwater video as required.
