Amery City Center Renovation

« Return to Project Search

The City of Amery was presented with the opportunity to repurpose a former bank building into a multifunctional government center. Ayres conducted extensive tours of existing City facilities, including the Amery Public Library, Amery City Hall and municipal offices, and the Amery Police Department. Comprehensive interviews with staff aimed to cover each detail so that the new space met the needs of each department.

The design team assembled layout options with space programming for all entities while keeping security and separation of the spaces at the forefront. Multiple floor diagram options allowed for a collaborative decision-making process, where stakeholders considered various configurations and selected the one that best served their strategic objectives and the diverse needs of each organization.

The 28,535-square-foot downtown project’s scope included a full renovation of the three-level building, along with a small addition to provide the Police Department with a separate secured entrance and garage. The library portion of the space totals approximately 16,000 square feet.
