Colorado Floods: A Year Later
It’s been a little over a year now since employees in our Colorado offices experienced a catastrophic flood, giving our water resources engineers a chance to put their skills to a serious test. The September 2013 flood made national headlines and sent the state scrambling to deal first with the emergency and then with the recovery and rebuilding. (Click here for a story from last fall’s TRENDS magazine on the flood recovery effort.)
Engineers in our Fort Collins and Denver offices not only helped with the emergency flood repair work such as protection for the City of Loveland’s imperiled water supply, but they also continue to assist with the ongoing recovery effort, working on permanent flood repairs in heavily damaged areas. Here’s a recap of how the recovery is going, one year later. While much has been done, there’s still a long way to go before things are back to normal.
