Windsor Residential Development Groundwater Modeling
« Return to Project SearchWith groundwater as high as 2 feet below the surface on the site of a proposed residential development at Windsor, Colorado, the developer needs groundwater modeling and the design of an underdrain system and a pump station to handle dewatering the site. The development is proposed to contain about 250 single-family homes.
Ayres was retained to provide these services, beginning with analysis of hydraulic conductivity in the area. The coarse grained sands of the Cenozoic Era Poudre River underlie the site, resulting in high groundwater flow. The underdrain and pump station sizing and configuration will take the high flow into account, and the design will include provision for diverting a portion of the groundwater discharge to the wetland next to County Road 5 to mitigate potential drawdown impacts from the underdrain operation.
