Bush Brothers Warehouse Expansion
« Return to Project SearchBush Brothers & Company, a highly successful food processor, relied on Ayres to design a 237,000-square-foot addition to one of the company’s warehouses in Augusta, Wisconsin. The project included about 1,900 square feet of shipping and distribution office space and connections to an existing warehouse and rail dock.
Nineteen truck-loading docks with levelers were provided on the south side of the building. Each loading dock is designed to allow the truck to be fully in place before the dock door is opened. The warehouse stays sealed, keeping temperatures even and maintaining product security. A key component of the project was bringing a rail spur inside the warehouse. Bush Brothers now can load eight cars at a time, all inside the warehouse.
Ayres also assisted with stormwater analysis; wetland mitigation permitting; site stormwater improvements for trailer and employee parking; site utility design and municipal utilities; roadway and parking design; and survey. New wells to provide water to the production facility were sited, and new well houses were designed and constructed. We also prepared bidding and construction documents for architectural; structural; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; plumbing; electrical; and fire protection construction.
Ayres provided coordination with railroad officials, the City of Augusta, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
