Village of Lake Hallie Boat Landing
« Return to Project SearchThe Village of Lake Hallie’s boat landing on the Chippewa River was showing significant deterioration and a loss of functionality. The parking lot surface exhibited severe cracking, potholes, and vegetation growth, while the boat ramp was too short, causing trailers to fall off the end of the concrete slab. Additionally, the boat ramp was aligned slightly in the upstream direction, creating difficult launching and loading conditions because of the current. In rare cases, dangerous situations have occurred in which the river current has pulled trailered vehicles into the waterway.
Ayres designed a new parking lot and a two-stall, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant boat ramp with adjacent floating docks. We also assisted the Village with submitting a Wisconsin Waterways Commission Recreational Boating Facilities (RBF) grant application. The Village was awarded a $131,785 RBF grant, and the project was constructed. Ayres assisted with bidding and construction administration.
